Harghita Spa is lesser known and more intimate than many other ski resorts from Romania. The setting is an untapped and rugged wilderness in the eastern part of the Carpathian Mountains. This is the place for those who love the stillness and silence, looking for snow-covered slopes and forests! The ski facilities are reliable and the accommodations are welcoming. The natural feeling is preserved because this area is not over developed. Harghita Spa has to offer more than five ski slopes, from easy to advanced level. Not only beginners can take a skiing lesson, but also those who simply would like to improve their skiing skills. English speaking ski and snowboard instructors will get you enthusiastic about winter sports. The altitude starts from 1300 m and arrives to 1400 m.

Is really skiing in Romania the cheapest in Europe? Maybe. It depends on what you are looking for. The cable transportation is cheap: about 0.5-0.7$ for one-way ticket. To rent a complete ski equipment is about 8-15$ a day. You’ll pay about 10-15$ an hour for a ski monitor. You can also have a very good cheap meal. If you enjoy ski touring, then Romania could be a very interesting destination.

Après-ski: Après-ski is part and part of the ski holiday experience. Up on the mountain or down in the valley – there’s parties everywhere in Transylvania. Party animals can enjoy themselves into the early hours. Alpine huts, inns and ski huts transform into party hot spots every night.
